Blessed with tremendous size, good speed, and athleticism Williams is starting to see his interest pick up, that's why he's "UP NEXT"!

Jamario Williams Profile

2013 cornerback Jamario Williams has already started hearing from a number of schools. The Hilton Head Christian Academy standout saw limited action last year playing in only 5 games but his numbers reinforce the fact that he's got serious talent. The 6'2 175 pound prospect has outstanding speed and incredible athleticism to boot, that's why he's "UP NEXT" with SCPrepNation.com!

Although he lined up as a wide receiver last season putting up good numbers in those five games many are projecting Williams to play as a cornerback on the next level. It's a move that's just fine with Williams as he talked about some of the schools that are recruiting him currently.

"Right now I'm hearing from Duke, Presbyterian, Furman, The Citadel, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Navy, and Brown."

Williams says four of those schools have been making a concerted effort to show him that their highly interested compared to the others.

"Georgia Tech, The Citadel, Furman, and Brown have been recruiting me the hardest."

Williams in fact has already taken visits to a trio of schools and he talked about what he enjoyed most about each of the schools he's seen thus far.

"I've visited South Carolina and I like their campus. I've also visited Clemson and I like their coaches, campus, and football facilities. I just visited The Citadel and I like their field and the way their coaches were talking."

Williams says he'll be taking more visits soon as well. He intends on visiting Georgia Tech on March 31st, The Citadel on June 3rd, and Furman on June 8th.

The 2013 prospect only played in five games but like we stated before it's easy to see why he's still receiving plenty of early attention given his 6'2 175 pound frame and skill set. He talked about his numbers from last season as well as his best game.

"I had about 500 hundred yards receiving with 5 touchdowns."

"My best game was against Thomas Heyward Academy. I had 8 catches for 100 and something yards and a touchdown."

Football isn't the only sport where he excels at either as Williams told us about some of the awards he's won during his career.

"I was named to the All-State Rookie team, named All-State in track, All-Region in track, and the MVP for track and field."

He carries that track speed over to the football field reporting a personal best of 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash. In fact, he realizes that facet of his game is one of his best traits right now. He also talked about what areas of his game he'll work on improving.

"My speed and my cover skills are my biggest strengths on the football field right now."

"This off season is about getting stronger, faster, and getting better at recognizing a player's tendencies."

Having already seen a couple of schools the Hilton Head Christian Academy standout has a sense of what he'll be weighing the most when choosing a potential college.

"I'll be looking a lot at location, coaching staff, education, and where I fit in football wise."
