UP NEXT: 2013 WR DeVonta' Delaney

Whale Branch High School standout DeVonta' Delaney showed out last season for his team and the 2013 standout is hoping that his talents will parlay into some college scholarships. The 6'1 180 pound prospect was brought to our attention by Whale Branch head coach Carlos Cave and after viewing his film it's easy to see why he's hearing from 2 ACC schools heavily early on.

DeVonta' Delaney Profile

Helping Whale Branch finish 7-4 last season 2013 wide receiver DeVonta' Delaney was one of their most explosive playmakers. The 6'1 180 pound wideout just finished up his junior season and now a handful of schools are showing him interest early on. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Delaney as he's "UP NEXT"!

"Right now I'm hearing from Georgia Tech, Duke South Carolina State, and Furman so far. Out of those schools I'd have to say Georgia Tech is recruiting me the hardest so far."

Delaney says he has yet to visit any schools but that will change this off season hopefully. The Whale Branch standout also said that he'd like to hear from in-state schools Clemson and South Carolina in the near future too.

Looking back on his junior season one game in particular stood out to him as his most memorable he says.

"The Bethune Bowman game was my best. I had 5 touchdowns, 4 offensive and 1 defensive touchdown. I also had 2 interceptions in that game."

For the year he had 33 receptions for 526 yards and 9 touchdowns. He also had a touchdown on an interception return as mentioned in the game against Bethune Bowman.

The Whale Branch prospect also talked about where he feels his strengths are currently.

"My biggest strengths are running good routes, having good hands, the ability to climb the ladder and get the ball, and that I'm reliable on needed first downs."

Although he hasn't really cranked up his recruitment by taking visits Delaney already knows what factors he'll weigh heaviest when choosing a college destination.

"Getting a good education, location, style of play, and early playing time will be the most important factors for me."
