Last year Cannon saw action all over the field for the Bulldogs. At times he was in the offensive backfield as a quarterback or running back, other times he was at wide receiver, and also saw plenty of time at safety on defense.

"This year I had about 700 rushing yards, 8 rushing touchdowns, a touchdown pass, averaged 4.5 tackles per game, had 5 Pass break-ups, and 2 forced fumbles."

One game in particular saw Cannon shine in a major way. He said it was definitely his top performance of his sophomore season.

The Ware Shoals game was my best. I had 3 touchdowns and about 168 Rushing yards. I also had 9 tackles. It was memorable because I played all three phases of the game and wasn't limited."

Cannon talked about where he feels his biggest strengths and areas for improvement are currently.

"I'm a good open field tackler and have good field vision."

"I just want to work on my footwork, get stronger to hit harder, and break more tackles."

Having lined up all over the field for the Bulldogs will be placed in a specific position play a role in his decision making process for college?

"I will play wherever a school wants me as long as I'm on the field."

Thus far Cannon hasn't heard from any schools but he's looking forward to being recruiting by all schools in the very near future. He talked about some of the things that he'll examine closely when choosing a school in a couple of years.

"Education and atmosphere are going to be important for me. I would like to feel comfortable in my classes and on campus!"

Cannon's play on the field earned him All-Region honors and won the prestigious Coaches For Character Award.

Zykiesis reports a 3.68 GPA currently and says he has not taken the SAT or ACT yet but plans to this coming year.
