Orangeburg Wilkinson linebacker Stedman Lucas is looking to secure his first scholarship offer and he's been on the road as of late to try and impress colleges. The 6'3 225 pound 2013 prospect talked with us recently about some of his most recent camps stops and more.
Asked if he's hearing from any new schools since our last update with him Lucas had this to say.
"Yes sir. I've been talkin to a good bit of schools. Mostly the same schools and Virginia Tech has started recruiting me recently too. I went up and camped at Wake Forest. I went to the Shrine Bowl Combine in Irmo and just finished camping with Clemson. I'm still undecided on the rest."
Asked about his trip to Winston-Salem to camp with Wake Forest Lucas says he enjoyed his visit.
"Wake Forest went really good. The coaches told me they liked what they saw with my size and athleticism. They also loved how I competed. They told me they will contact me sometime in the coming weeks."
This week Lucas camped with Clemson and he had an enjoyable experience with the Tigers' staff apparently.
"I went up to Clemson earlier this week and did well. The coaches up there show a lot of love and they act like they really want me. I loved it."
Lucas will be on the road again this coming weekend heading to North Carolina State.
"Virginia Tech contacted me recently and said they are really interested and that they want me to come up for camp."
Lucas has an older brother, Sterling Lucas, who currently plays for North Carolina State as a linebacker. Scout.com will have more updates with Lucas as his recruitment continues to warm up and he could be on the verge of his first offer in the near future so stay tuned!
