Jordan Hennessee Profile

As one of the upstate's biggest prospects Easley High School's Jordan Hennessee is hard to miss. At 6'6 305 pounds he's made strides with his game as an offensive tackle and has generated plenty of interest for himself. The 2013 prospect already holds one written offer and he's camped with plenty of schools in hopes of landing more in the near future. We caught up with Hennessee as he shared details regarding his recruitment and more recently.

Hennessee talked about some things he's done recently to help with his skills as a lineman.

"I wrestled this winter for the first time and improved my leverage and hands. I'm also taking yoga class this summer to improve hip flexibility and balance."

A true student of the game Hennessee shared with us his strengths at this point in his career too.

"My power blocking and pulling ability are my biggest strengths right now."

Word has already spread about Hennessee as he shared with us some of the schools he's hearing from currently.

"I'm hearing from Holy Cross, Wofford, Furman, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Elon, Western Carolina, Harvard, Cornell, Brown, all the other Ivy League schools, Concord, Georgia Tech, PC, VMI, Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern, Marshall, Liberty, and Clemson."

The summer has been an extremely busy one for Hennessee as he's hit numerous camps. He broke things down for us about where he's been and what he liked about each school/program.

  • Citadel – High intensity practice and great life lessons
  • Furman – close to home and high academic standards
  • Western Carolina – Great coaches and a beautiful location
  • Wofford – Coach Ayers spent a lot of time with the O-line and I enjoy their style of offense
  • Concord - Coach Justice is a great coach
  • Appalachian State - fantastic facilities and game atmosphere
  • Elon - beautiful campus and an experience NFl O-line coach
  • Georgia Southern - program on the rise
  • HolyCross – History
  • Harvard – Amazing stadium
  • Charleston Southern - Christian atmosphere

"I have a written offer from Concord. Concord head coach Garin Justice was an All-American offensive lineman at West Virginia. He spent a lot of time evaluating me one-on-one during camp and offered a few days later. This is my first offer and it means a lot. All other schools are about the same."

The 2013 prospect is looking forward to his senior season but it's some early pre-season matchups that he's really looking forward to because they pit the Green Wave against some perennial powerhouses in AAAA.

"The Greenwood and Gaffney scrimmages. They are both always very good teams and we are working hard to compete at that level."

Last year Hennessee said T.L. Hanna's Ben Boulware was the toughest opponent he faced. He had a lot of admiration for the current Clemson commitment.

"Ben Boulware, he is a very talented opponent. Matching his speed and playing on that level was a great opportunity."

Looking ahead to college Hennessee talked about what he'll look at when choosing a school.

"I want to attend a high quality school where the students and community care about football."

Jordan is a member of the National Honor Society and also was a finalist in the international Ayn Rand writing competition. He also reports a 4.2/5 or 3.5/4 GPA scale. He has scored a 1720 on the SAT.

SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Jordan Hennessee as we anticipate that he'll start hearing from more schools and subsequently add more offers once his senior season gets underway, so stay tuned!
