S Coleman Has Offers, Big Visits Coming Up

It's been a road less traveled for Tiquention Coleman of Georgia Military College. A 2010 graduate of Mauldin High School, Coleman had some offers back then but ended up heading to GMC where he says it was the best thing to happen to him. Now he has some offers again on the table and could be on the verge of a Pac-12 and Big Ten offers in the next few weeks. Get the latest inside!

Tiquention Coleman Profile

We knew back in 2009 that Tiquention Coleman was a college prospect. The first time we saw him play it brought back images of Ronnie Lott of the San Francisco 49ers with some bone jarring hits. Coleman we had determined was the biggest hitter in the state for the 2010 class.

Coleman has matured on and off the field and he's still the same fierce tackling safety he was when he graduated from Mauldin...but better. The 5'10 198 pound prospect talked about his experience of going to Georgia Military College to strengthen not only his academics but other aspects of his life.

"Yeah unfortunately I had to choose a new route, but it happened to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I've had awesome experiences, became a totally different person, and I've met great people that I will keep in contact with for the rest of my life."

Through 8 games this year Coleman says he's got 3 interceptions, 1 returned for a touchdown, 9 pass break ups, 50 tackles, and 3 forced fumbles. His play on the field has generated some early offers and he's got more schools giving chase here as of late.

"I've got offers from UNC-Charlotte and Georgia Southern right now. Memphis has verbally offered me over the phone. Those schools along with Wisconsin, Arizona, and Washington State are all showing me a lot of attention at the moment."

A pair of those schools are highly interested in Coleman and he's set to take official visits with those respective programs.

"I'm going to visit Arizona this weekend. This is going to be my first official visit. I'm just blessed to be in this position first and foremost, but I am excited to see how the fans are at the game especially since they have USC coming into town. I'm just ready to see how the environment is. I'm relaly hoping it will be a very welcoming place."

South Carolina native and Arizona assistant coach Tony Gibson is Coleman's lead recruiter for the Wildcats.

The other program who is showing heavy interest and wants him in town for an official resides in the Big Ten Conference.

"Wisconsin should be offering in the next couple of days, they claim that I am the number one safety on their boards. I am most likely going to try to head to Wisconsin November 17th for a visit when Ohio State comes into town. I feel like that will be the perfect game to go to."

With offers already on the table and possibly coming in the next couple of weeks what will the former Mauldin High standout be looking at when choosing his next destination?

"Education first and foremost. The depth chart, how well my position coach is, and seeing what my family thinks of it."

Coleman already has a timeframe as to when he plans on making his decision too.

"I will most likely make my final decision the second week in December."

SCPrepNation.com will have updates with Coleman upon his return from Arizona and again after his visit to Wisconsin. We'll keep you posted with the very latest so keep it right here!
