2014 Intro: York RB Ryan Moore

2014 running back Ryan Moore of York High School has enjoyed another strong season. Last year he eclipsed 1,000 yards for Clover High School and he's continuing the trend again surpassing 1,000 yards for his new team. We caught up with Moore to talk about his recruitment and more in a recent update.

Ryan Moore Profile

Watching young prospects grow and evolve is something that is part of the business as a recruiting analyst. We knew about Ryan Moore because of his older brother Ricky Moore who starred at Clover High School. Last season Ryan played at Clover but has since transferred to York High School. No matter the location Moore is a prospect to be reckoned with having rushed for 1,000+ yards at both schools now. We caught up with Ryan to talk about his junior season, recruitment, and more in a recent update.

The 2014 York High running back brought his talents over from Clover as we previously mentioned. He talked about his sophomore season a year ago with us to shed some light on his talents.

"Last season at Clover I had 224 carries for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns. I won multiple player of the week awards. I was also MaxPreps player of the week a couple of times. I was named the team's best offensive player and I was also named honorable mention all-area."

The 5'10 188 pound Moore hasn't missed a beat with his new team either. He set some goals for himself heading into the season and he's surpassed most already.

"I wanted to rush for 1,000 or more yards, have 500 or more yards receiving, and score 10 touchdowns this year. So far this year I have 1,010 yards rushing, 226 yards receiving, and 15 touchdowns."

With his team currently in the midst of the playoffs Moore hasn't let off the throttle yet either.

"Last week against Laurens I had 126 yards rushing on 15 carries and scored 3 touchdowns."

So what's interesting is that thus far Moore hasn't heard from any colleges to this point. Considering the success he's had this year and last season it comes as a surprise. He talked about recruiting and more with us.

"We had over 40 schools come by during spring practice and I talked to a lot of them but I haven't heard from anybody yet."

That won't stop Moore from being proactive when it comes to showcasing his talents this off season though he says.

"I'm going to be all over the country this off season."

Like most prospects Moore says his primary goal is to help his team win a state championship.

Looking ahead to college the 2014 prospect talked about what will matter to him the most when choosing a school.

"Some of the factors will consist of style of play, division they are in (conference strength), coaching staff, and atmosphere of the program. Also if everyone is ALL IN!"

College coaches will be glad to know that Moore shines in the classroom where he reports a 3.89 GPA taking honors and college prep classes. He says he took the SAT for the first time a few weeks ago and is awaiting his test scores.

Currently Moore says he is on track to graduate early in December after his senior football season is complete and he wants to enroll early so he can participate in spring practice.
