It has yet to really sink in according to Dogan.

"I was so surprised that I was speechless and I'm still in shock. It won't hit me untill we practice."

As we mentioned before the Tigers had a player in last year's game current Maryland quarterback Caleb Rowe. It was seeing Rowe selected and participating in the game that really got Dogan thinking.

"Yes it has been on my mind ever since my old teammate Caleb Rowe made it last year, I wanted to make it also."

Dogan talked about what he's really looking forward to during Shrine Bowl week and some of the teammates he's really looking forward to getting to know better.

"I'm just looking foward to practicing with the best players in this state and getting prepared to play my last high school game."

I'm really looking forward to getting to know Chocolate Wilson and Jadar Johnson better."

Being that it is an all-star game the increased competition is a no-brainer and it has Dogan geared up to see where his talents stack up with other top prospects.

"I plan to play like this is my last game ever and leave it all on the field."

This year Dogan and his Tigers had a strong season before falling in the playoffs to Daniel High School. He shared with us his senior season stats.

"This year I had 96 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 blocked punts."

The 2013 prospect says that he's still hearing from a number of schools currently.

"I'm hearing from Auburn, Georgia Southern, Maryland, and Clemson."

Nearby Clemson is a school that Dogan has frequented quite a bit. He shared with us what he likes most about the Tigers.

"I've been to Clemson and I love the atmosphere and all the love the fans show to the team."

Although he has yet to land his first scholarship offer would the team that does become the first to offer get extra consideration from Dogan?

"Yes the first school to offer me will get a lot of heavy interest from me since they were the first to offer."

Looking back on how his game has improved since the end of his junior season Dogan quickly replied, "My coverage has gotten a lot better. I had no balls caught on me this year and I had 4 passes caught on me last year."

Dogan also had some words of wisdom to share with younger prospects who want to play in The Shrine Bowl someday.

"Just to work hard in the weight room and practice like you play."

The waiting game may continue for Dogan in regards to landing his first offer but he's putting in the work to prepare himself for the rigors of the college level.

"I'm just hitting the weights hard and doing a lot of conditioning." will have more updates with Corey Dogan and other Shrine Bowl participants so keep it right here!
