2014 White Knoll High School OL Christian Taylor headed north over the weekend to take in a visit and to also compete in a NFTC event. The 6'5 330 pound prospect shared his thoughts about his latest visit and gave us the skinny on how he felt he performed at the Nike event on Sunday.
"I went and visited UNC Charlotte this weekend. It was one of the nicest places I have seen. Even though they have never played a football game yet."
The Charlotte coaching staff apparently wants to see the 2014 and fellow SC lineman Jake Whitley back on campus soon.
"They said that they love me and Jake and that they want us to come to some of the games and visit more. They also want us to come to practice one day soon."
Taylor will be checking out some more schools in the very near future too.
After checking out Charlotte and their program Taylor and Whitley competed in the NFTC event on Sunday. Although the weather wasn't very cooperative the big lineman says he saw some top flight competition there.
"I did real good! They had good defensive linemen there too like Kentavious Street. I think I could make the opening possibly."
One opponent that has been gaining a lot of steam lately who also hails from South Carolina Taylor didn't get a chance to compete against.
"Poona Ford was okay, nothing too impressive. He has room to improve. I didn't get a chance to compete against him because he was inside, at a 3-technique."
Asked to rate his own performance on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest Taylor responded, "I'd give myself a 8.5 or 9. I was good though especially a month and a few days out of my cast!"
One player that Taylor says was on top of his game was fellow offensive lineman Bentley Spain who is rated 4-stars. Spain went on to earn offensive line MVP honors.
