Affectionately known as "Mock" to those in the Greenwood community 2015 wide receiver Markeyvious Adams has the makings of very possibly the next promising prospect to emerge from Greenwood High School. Adams completed his sophomore season with 29 catches for 261 yards and a touchdown but it's his potential and size that already has college coaches across the country keeping a close eye on him early in the process. That's why Adams is "UP NEXT" with SCPrepNation.com.
"Mock" has the tools to be one of 2015's most sought after prospects. His early school list only strengthens that sentiment. The 6'5 175 pound wide receiver shared a list of the schools he's heard from so far.
Still relatively early in the process Adams says he's being most heavily pursued at this point by Clemson and Duke.
Asked if he felt like any particular schools may be on the verge of extending him his first scholarship offer he had this to say.
"I'd say Clemson right now."
Still waiting on offer number one Adams had this to say about when the day comes.
"Oh I'll be excited!"
Adams has been to various camps and coaches have seen his sophomore highlights and this is what college coaches have told him that they love about his game at this juncture in his career.
"They say I have good hands, good vertical, and run my routes pretty well."
Ready to step his game up even more heading towards his junior season next year Adams told us one area of his game he's really trying to improve upon this off season.
"I'm working hard to get better cuts in my routes."
There are other schools out there that Adams would love to hear from in the very near future too.
Adams is also a standout basketball player for the Eagles and he's heard from a couple of schools for hoops as well.
"I've heard from Jacksonville and Georgia for basketball."
Asked which sport he felt was his "ticket" to the next level he quickly responded "football."
The 6'5 wide receiver maintains a 3.6 GPA in the classroom and he told us that education will be one of the biggest deciding factors when it comes time to make a decision. He as of now has an interest in majoring in some sort of engineering when he gets to college.
