Harley lines up all over the field for the Stags at running back, defensive back, kick returner, and punt returner. Last week in a 29-10 loss to Stratford, Harley was in the spotlight as he made 6 tackles and had 3 interceptions against the Knights and 4-star quarterback Jacob Park who is committed to Georgia.
The 2014 prospect is hoping his strong play will bring more schools into the mix for him in the near future.
"I already have one offer from Presbyterian. Well this summer I went to prospect camps at Charleston Southern, Old Dominion, Davidson, and UNC Charlotte. Western Carolina came and spoke to me during the spring so they are in the mix too. I also just got an email today from the coach at Kentucky Christian."
When asked about how it feels to have an offer already Harley had this to say about the Blue Hose offer.
"It felt really good to get that first offer. I went there for a basketball camp this summer and I really liked the campus. Instead of worrying about basketball I wanted to go and meet the head coach. Although I didn't get a chance to meet him I did meet their running backs coach."
Considering how diverse Harley is at multiple positions on the field in high school he talked about what coaches have said to him thus far.
"Well I've been to all of the camps as a running back and all of them pretty much are interested in me playing there. The PC recruiting coordinator said I could possibly be used in the slot also."
"Changing positions wouldn't really bother me. It's just that I feel like I'm an offensive minded player. But football is football. As long as I'm playing I'm alright."
The Berkeley standout talked about what he feels are his biggest strengths and areas he'd like to improve upon.
"I have good speed, I can move well laterally and vertically, I'm good at finding the holes and hitting them at full speed. I'm also good at breaking tackles and have good soft hands. I also like the fact that I'm underrated so people can overlook and don't think much of me. I just like to perform and let my playing talk for me."
"To get better I want to focus on getting stronger and putting on some more weight."
With one offer in hand currently we asked Harley what factors he'll be considering heavily when it comes time to make a decision for school.
"I want to go somewhere where I can be an immediate impact even if that's backing someone up. I'm all for competing and doing what's best for me, the school, and the team. I'll look at everything like education, location, style of play, atmosphere, coaching staff, conference strength, and graduation rates."
Harley reports a 3.1 GPA and a 1270 SAT score. He says he will be taking the SAT again in October.
