As we've said before 2014 wide receiver/athlete prospect Dre Massey of Mauldin High School is one of the state's most explosive athletes and he showed exactly why on Friday night is just a little over one half of play.
"Yes sir I had a pretty good game. I had 420 yards and 7 touchdowns," Massey told us.
"I know I had like 157 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns and 263 yards passing with 4 touchdowns in the first half!"
Massey says he played the opening drive of the second half before shutting it down for the night to allow others playing time experience.
Putting up such absurd numbers what was going through Massey's mind at the time?
"Actually it felt normal. I expect to put up numbers...every game really. I mean I feel like I have the ability to break a game wide open. So that's just what I did."
Already hearing from a number of schools Massey says a few new ones made sure to contact him after his impressive performance against Woodmont.
"Old Dominion wants my transcript and for me to come for a visit to a game while they are on a 4-game home stretch. North Carolina State is pretty much just starting to get to know me. They want my transcripts just like ODU does."
Expectations are set high for Massey as stated before and he's ready to continue to pile up big numbers and hopefully some more offers to join his lone offer from Marshall in the very near future.
"I hope I get a shot at Player Of The Week. College coaches should just be on the lookout for another big game from me...I'm gonna get better and better as the season progresses."
