Things have picked up dramatically for 2014 Hillcrest offensive tackle Ian Fabian on the field he says. A new position coach and increased confidence have helped him evolve in a big way this season. The 6'5 290 pound prospect sat down with us recently and gave us the very latest.
"We got a new full time offensive line coach earlier this season before we got into pads. His name is Emmanuel "Train" Lamb. He is a former college and NFL offensive lineman. He has really helped me fine tune my technique and has really been a big blessing for me and the whole offensive line."
The results from that work and training has paid early dividends Fabian says.
"In two games, both wins, I've had 110 or so offensive plays. The man I blocked has only made 5 tackles so far. Coach Lamb has made a huge impact. I am learning how to really play the game. I just wish this would have happened three years ago it would be a different story."
With his play level steadily improving Fabian continues to hear from a number of schools. He brought us up to speed with the very latest that is going on as of late.
"I am visiting Furman this weekend. I have letter of invite to The Citadel, Elon, and Davidson. I just have to figure the dates out with my parents. My dad has taught me to be humble, and I want to be. But I have to be honest. In the last month, my development has increased greatly. I believe who ever takes a chance on me is going to get a really good player. Coach Lamb has told me that I am definitely a BCS player and I am beginning to believe him."
