Bavueir Jackson (6'1 225 pounds) has been on the radar for a while and colleges are starting to show him early interest. The junior standout from Broome High School talked about the schools he has been hearing from including one school that he recently visited with.
"I don't have any offers but North Carolina is hitting me the hardest right now. I took an unofficial visit recently to see Chapel Hill. I'm also getting recruited by North Carolina State, Clemson, Auburn, and Kentucky right now."
Asked about his visit to Chapel Hill Jackson responded, "The best parts of my visit was talking to coach Brewer about how I was doing in football and school. Just the fact that we had that one on one conversation, touring the school, and watching them beat up on Middle Tennessee."
The Tar Heels won't be the only schools that Jackson visits this season though.
"I'm visiting North Carolina State on November 23rd and I'm also going to visit with Auburn."
Although Jackson missed 3 games this season he had posted 33 tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble in three game prior to last Friday's game against. Heading into that contest Jackson was averaging 11.2 tackles per game.
In regards to his play we asked Jackson what he felt were his biggest strengths right now on the field.
"I'm good playing down hill, filling the holes and stopping anything that comes my way. I would say I'm a play maker!"
Areas that Jackson wants to improve upon moving forward are his play against the pass and reading offenses better.
Although he's got a handful of ACC & SEC schools already showing interest Jackson says he'd like to hear more from a pair of schools.
As for camps this off season Jackson says he plans to camp with Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Auburn. He's also trying to some invitations to some all-star camps as well.
Jackson reports a 3.1 GPA in the classroom and took the SAT for the first time a few weeks ago.
Performing well on the football field and the classroom Jackson also excels on the track field as well.
"I throw the discus and shot put. I was the boys AA state champion in discus as a freshman with a season best of 173'3". Sophomore year I got 2nd at state in AAA. My season best in the shot put of 51'6" placed me 4th at state!"
Looking ahead the 2015 prospect knows what he'll be looking at closely when choosing a school too.
"One thing I'll be looking at is if I will be redshirted my freshman year. I want a good coaching staff and education will play a big role in my school of choice too."
