The junior season of 2015 Byrnes running back Isaiah Hill rolls on and it appears as if he's getting better each and every week for the Rebels. One school has already been expressing heavy interest in the 6'1 210 pound prospect from Duncan. We caught up with Hill after his visit to see how things went and what other schools he's interested in hearing from soon.
"I went on an unofficial visit to North Carolina Saturday."
The 2015 prospect told us about his visit to Chapel Hill and how things went. The Tar Heels pulled off a 34-10 victory over Boston College.
"I got to talk to the recruiting coach over the area and the running backs coach. I didn't get a chance to see the school or facilities though."
So far this season despite the Rebels vaunted passing attack Hill has been pretty successful as their primary rusher. On the year Hill has 74 carries for 497 yards and 9 touchdowns. Catching the ball out of the backfield Hill has 27 receptions for 452 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Given his 6'1 210 pound frame Hill is one of the larger backs and he talked about where he felt his strengths and areas for improvement are currently.
"I'm good at being physical, going out and catching the ball, and stepping up in the holes and making blocks. I'd like to improve my speed and my field vision to get even better."
That physical style he plays with also resembles a player he likens his game to and pattern his style after somewhat.
"Marshawn Lynch. He isn't the fastest player but he is explosive and physical."
When asked about his best game to date Hill had a quick reply.
"The Gaffney game. I had 3 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown. I had 104 rushing yards and 49 receiving yards. It was memorable game because Gaffney had won the last 4 out of 5 against us. They beat us twice last year and it left a sour taste in our mouths."
That game also earned Hill one of his most precious rewards, the "Rivalry MVP Award," for his performance against the Indians in the Rebels 61-20 victory a couple of weeks ago.
Currently Hill reports a 3.2 GPA in the classroom and he talked about what aspects he'll consider the most when choosing a potential college.
"I'd say education, style of play, coaching staff, campus life, and facilities will be important to me."
