Although his school runs out of the wing-T offense and is known for their penchant for smashmouth football running the ball down the throats of their opponents, 2015 Greenwood High wide receiver Markeyvious Adams has been on the radar of tons of D1 programs over the southeast region. This past Saturday the 6'5 wide receiver went to visit an ACC school on Saturday and got the news he's been waiting on...his first scholarship offer.
"I got my first offer from North Carolina State today," Adams said.
Adams visited the Wolfpack as they hosted rivals North Carolina. He talked about how things went and who offered him for the Pack.
"It was a really good visit. I didn't really get a chance to see any of the facilities."
"Head coach Dave Doeren offered me. He said, "I like your film and I would like to give you an offer.""
Asked how it felt to get that first scholarship offer Adams shared his thoughts.
"It feels great!"
Adams is obviously excited by the first offer from the Wolfpack and they are one of his early leaders but there will more visits to other schools in the coming weeks he says.
The Eagles preference to run the ball is a known fact and Adams shared his numbers so far this season with us.
"I have 4 touchdowns and I think about 350 yards so far. We primarily run the ball with our offense so there's not much passing."
Outside of North Carolina State Adams says another pair of schools have been recruiting him equally as hard.
"Louisville and Clemson have been recruiting me pretty hard. I've been talking to both them a lot more lately and Clemson has been to two of my games."
