It has been an interesting process for 2015 Gaffney offensive tackle T.J. Haney. Identified early on Haney still awaits his first offer and he talks about what schools have been showing interest, what schools he's visited, and what his plans are for this off season to get better. The 6'6 310 pound prospect also talked about how things are going in the classroom as well.
As far as the schools chasing him the hardest right now the 2015 prospect says a few of those schools are stepping up their efforts more than others.
"I would say Duke, Vanderbilt, Marshall, and North Carolina are recruiting me the hardest right now."
Haney has visited quite a few schools and he talked about which ones and what he likes most about those program.
"I've been to Duke, North Carolina twice, and Clemson twice. They are all great programs. They have great coaching staffs and great programs that fit me well."
To up the stakes heading into his senior season next year the 6'6 310 pound prospect shared what aspects of his game he'll be working on this off season to try and improve his skills and game to impress more college coaches in hopes of landing that first offer.
"I want to improve on my foot speed to help get on those quick linebackers on run blocks or screen plays."
There are other schools that Haney says he's still looking forward to hearing more from in the near future as well.
Asked about some of the competition he faced this season he says one defender in particular was a tough matchup.
"My toughest opponent this season was a defensive end from Byrnes, #32. He was very quick and strong. We had some battles at the line and it was a fun competition going against him."
In regards to his academics Haney says that he's a honor roll student and honors student with a 4.019 GPA at the moment.
