Hauling in 33 touchdowns catches this season 2014 Byrnes wide receiver Shaedon Meadors broke the state record for most touchdown catches in a season and was just one away from tying the national high school record. Today the explosive play maker with a 4.34 GPA and nearly an equal forty yard dash time made his verbal commitment and SCPrepNation.com has the news first here!

Shaedon Meadors Profile

The recruiting process has always been different for various prospects through the years but the recruitment of 2014 Byrnes wide receiver Shaedon Meadors is one we'll never forget.

Meadors had the size, speed, stats, great character, and superb grades in the classroom. Those stats just from his senior season were 1,864 yards receiving with 33 touchdowns and you see why he held over a dozen scholarship offers.

This afternoon the highly explosive play maker for the Rebels gave his commitment to Appalachian State.

The 6'2 175 pound Meadors talked at length about his decision and chose the Mountaineers over his other two finalists Old Dominion and Wake Forest.

"You know it was really how close they are, it's like a big family. I connected with the players just as much as I did with the coaches. I asked my parents what school they thought was the best for the first time and they agreed on Appalachian State. I prayed long and hard for an answer and I believe that's where God has lead me to go."

Meadors had some thoughts he wanted to share with the Mountaineer faithful too.

"I want the App State fans and family to know that Lil Nuke is an explosive wide receiver that's gonna try to help bring back that winning tradition to the program!"
