As one of the state's top 2015 basketball prospects White Knoll guard Emarius Logan continues to pile up big numbers. In doing so he has impressed quite a few college coaches along the way. We caught up with Logan as he talked in depth about his recruitment, junior season, and thoughts about what factors will play a major role in his decision making process.
"Right now I'm averaging 21 points, 5 assists, and 6 boards," Logan told us.
"My best game this season I had 27 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. I almost had my first triple double. It was against our rivals Lexington."
It has been a tough year for his White Knoll squad with a 9-13 record. Logan says they are a young team and they've lost 7 games by just 1 or 2 points.
"I've got 6 offers so far. Winthrop, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Wofford, Presbyterian, and Charleston Southern. I'm also hearing from Georgia and Clemson."
Logan shared with us what college coaches have said they like most about his game on the hardwood right now.
"They like that I can play the one and the two. They say they love my jumper and aggressiveness. A lot of them say that they like that I can score in multiple way too."
When asked to critique the strengths and weaknesses of his game right now he talked in depth about it all with us.
"My strengths would be my pull up jumper, ball handling, and decision making. I want to improve on my defense! I average 4 steals again but that's more of reading the next pass but my on ball defense needs to get better for the next level."
When asked to compare his game/style on the court to one particular player he named one of the game's deadliest shooters.
"I'd say Stephen Curry! He's a scoring point guard that can play the one and two! He can shoot it and attack! He's got an all around game."
With a bunch of offers already in hand are there any other schools in particular that Logan wants to hear from in the near future?
"It really doesn't matter. I've got mid-major offers but its more about fit than size to me. That and whether I go in and play right away than sit a year or two."
The 2015 standout says he plans on taking officials next fall.
"I've been on some unofficials. I plan on taking officials to Winthrop and Georgia Southern in the Fall."
Currently Logan reports a 3.6 GPA and a 19 on the ACT.
