One of the state's biggest sleepers at defensive end is 2015 prospect Destin Guillen. It's hard to fathom a youngster who stands 6'6 245 pounds as a sleeper but Guillen has put up some very good numbers during his career and colleges are starting to take notice. The Berea High School standout took a Junior Day visit this weekend and talked about it and more with SCPrepNation.com.
"I went to Charlotte for their Junior Day today. I got to talk with their defensive line coach while I was there. I really liked it up there," Guillen said.
Charlotte is among a number of schools showing interest currently. One local school will get a visit soon as well and an ACC school has been making a move with Guillen as well.
"I'm going to Furman's Junior Day in March. Maryland is showing a lot of interest and I'm very interested in their program have a good relationship with the defensive line coach."
In fact, Guillen has a really good feeling about Maryland at this point.
"They said they want to be one of the first ones to offer me. I hope they do."
This past season Guillen had 12 sacks, 13 pass break ups, 1 interception, and 39 tackles for the Bulldogs.
We'll have more updates with Destin Guillen as his recruitment starts to heat up so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
