One look at Marquavius Lewis at Greenwood High School and I knew the youngster had off the charts potential. Back then he was a long rangy linebacker prospect who had immense athleticism and made plays on a nightly basis for the Eagles. Now at Hutchison Community Collge he's grown into a 6'4 270 pound defensive end prospect who is maximizing that potential and turning it into offers from some of the country's elite college football programs.
Being that he's "blowing up" what does the former Greenwood High standout think about his process and landing so many offers?
"It's a great opportunity and all the hard work I put in is paying off."
After leaving Greenwood High and landing at Hutchison Lewis talks about his evolution as a player since lining up for the Eagles a few years ago.
"I'd say my transition from linebacker to defensive end, I've gained more awareness, gained weight, and transitioning to a different speed of play has been the biggest changes for me since I left Greenwood."
With a number of offers already on the table for his services we asked Lewis what he'll be looking at closely when making a final decision.
"Mostly how comfortable I am at the school and if my family can come watch me play."
Right now Lewis says he has no favorites and no timetable as to when or how he'll narrow things down.
"I'm pretty level headed about everything right now."
Lewis is one of the nation's top JUCO prospects and he could land more offers in the near future, we'll keep you up to date regarding his recruitment here on Scout.com!
