Massive 6'8 320 pound Timberland High offensive tackle Kevin McCray is one of the largest prospects in the state regardless of classification and he made a second trip to Clemson for a visit this past weekend. SCPrepNation.com caught up with McCray to talk about how his latest trip to Tiger Town went.
"The visit was more than I expected! It was too turned up! I felt like I got the royal treatment."
"I'd have to say the private tour was my favorite part of the visit. They gave the best and most intricate tour ever! Also meeting Coach Caldwell."
While there McCray says he got a chance to spend some time with his position coach who had already sat down and viewed his film and gave him some pointers.
"I talked to coach, he had already watched my film. He said he liked my game but he also said I got a little work to do but I agree with him because I know I'm not the best yet. He also said he needs for me to come to camp this off season."
The sophomore says Caldwell gave him some compliments on his footwork but also pointed out things that he needed to keep working on to get better. It's something he appreciated the coach taking the time to do for him.
Asked to grade his trip to Clemson on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best McCray had an emphatic answer.
"A 10! It felt like home but I'm still going to explore other options too."
McCray says he didn't get a chance to see or speak to head coach Dabo Sweeney and that he the last time he spoke with the Tigers' head man it was earlier in the year.
The 2016 prospect says he will visit another in-state school later on this month.
