Quick Hitter: 15' RB Matt Colburn Talks UNC

This year he helped lead Dutch Fork to a AAAA Division 1 state title and last week 2015 RB Matt Colburn picked up his first scholarship offer. Over the weekend Colburn took a visit to North Carolina and gave us all the details of what appears to be a trip he thoroughly enjoyed.

Matt Colburn Profile

"I just got back from UNC," Colburn told us on Saturday evening.

"It was awesome! The campus is beautiful, so spread out. They've got tons of pretty buildings, a lot to offer. The jerseys are sick too!"

"They apparently have the most extensive contract with Nike. This past year they didn't go a single game wearing the same uniform combo."

While there Colburn was able to speak to his recruiter and position coach.

"I talked to Coach Koenning and Coach the running backs coach."

Colburn shared with us what Koenning had to say to him.

"Coach Koenning said he was glad that I could come. He said he'd be down in the spring for some of our practices and told me to keep working so we can win another state title."

Gaining over 3,000+ yards and 48 touchdowns from scrimmage last season for Dutch Fork Colburn was a catalyst for their state title run.

Asked to rate his trip to Chapel Hill on Saturday on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best Colburn had a definitive answer.

"A 10! It was freakin' awesome. It really exceeded my expectations! The campus is spaced out and the building and facilities are beautiful and extensive. I was really amazed. The jerseys got me hooked too. I was able to try on two of them while I was there and get pictures."

Earlier last week Colburn picked up his first scholarship offer from Marshall. Given his outstanding junior season and having already broken numerous records at Dutch Fork with an entire season ahead of him Colburn undoubtedly should see more offers come his way before too long as his film starts to circulate.
