Matt Colburn Profile

One player here in South Carolina that is definitely trending upwards in a hurry is 2015 Dutch Fork running back Matt Colburn. His video game-like statistics matched with helping to lead his team to the AAAA Division 1 state championship last year is starting to open some eyes. This past week Colburn picked up his second offer and he gave us the rundown on the very latest.

"I was offered by Charleston Southern. Coach Issac Newland their running backs coach offered me."

Apparently their interest in Colburn came after viewing his highlights from his spectacular junior season.

"This was actually the first time I've heard from them. It's awesome. It makes me have more appreciation for all the blood, sweat, and tears that have been shed but he told me that position they are most down at is running back and that I'm the number one running back on their list. He said I'm the best he's seen out of the ones he's been recruiting from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. He said the coach loves me and that I'm the perfect size for them."

The offer from Charleston Southern joins Colburn's first offer which came from Marshall. The 2015 prospect says he'll look to get out and take some visits this off season.

"I will most likely visiting Charleston Southern and Marshall most likely in the summer!"

This coming weekend Colburn will be putting in some more work in hopes of drawing more exposure from college coaches.

"I'm going to the NFTC in Charlotte this weekend. I'm also going to the Rivals Camp on Sunday."

"I've mainly been working on my vertical, it isn't my strongest area of testing persay but I'm looking forward to improving on the shuttle, powerball, as well as the 40 yard dash."

Other schools remain in the picture for Colburn as of late but he informed us of the ones who are showing him the most interest as of late.

"I continually get emails from Princeton, Florida State, and Harvard."
