We've been covering 2015 Blythewood linebacker Hassan Belton for quite a while and the 6'0 210 pound prospect has worked strenuously this off season in order to try and get his name out there and Belton has done that and more. He went from no stars to three stars and just this past week went from zero offers to three offers. We spoke with Belton about his recruitment and the offers.
A genuinely excited Belton gave us the good news a little over a week ago.
"I got that first offer coach! Mercer University offered me."
Shortly thereafter within the hour another offer came in for the 6'0 210 pound prospect.
"Charleston Southern just offered me too coach!"
Belton was slated to attend Appalachian State on Saturday and Sunday for the Spring Game and Junior Day events. On Friday though Appalachian State coaches called with more good news.
"Appalachian State offered me! It's amazing my first FBS offer!"
Belton made the trip up to visit with Appalachian State and enjoyed his time there over the weekend. So in a matter of a couple of days Belton went from zero offers to three offers.
More schools have been reaching out to Belton as of late too as he has simply blown it up on the camp and combine circuit this off season walking away with either LB MVP or Defensive MVP awards at nearly every one he's attended.
One of those schools that has reached out to Belton is North Carolina State.
"North Carolina State wants me to come up next week. They are looking at me at linebacker also, coach Kitchings their running backs coach is my primary recruiter."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Hassan Belton as his recruitment continues to heat up.
