Bavueir Jackson Profile

Long on the radar of 2015 Broome linebacker Bavueir Jackson is starting to see more interest as of late. The 6'1 225 pound prospect could be on the verge of his first offers here soon and he talked with us about it all in this update.

Jackson says he has visited North Carolina, Charlotte, and Furman in recent months and he talked in-depth about what he likes most about each program.

"At North Carolina I like their atmosphere and how pumped they get on game days. I also like that they are televised a lot."

"With Charlotte I like that they are building a team and had a good start in their first season. Also the fact that they are bumping up to Conference USA. They are a pretty big school too and I like the way they talk about how they are adding on the facilities and stadium."

"Furman has a really nice campus. I just attended their Spring Game so I don't really have much to say about it."

Jackson is one of the strongest prospects in the state in his weight class and he's made some strides in the weight room since our last update as well.

"I'm benching 325 pounds, squatting 450 pounds, power cleaning 290 pounds, and I ran a 4.7 second 40 yard dash. I'm doing a lot of agility to improve my feet. I'm also doing yoga for flexibility in my hips and balance."

"Things have picked back up with recruiting so I'm planning to hear from more schools and what they have to offer."

One school is close to offering apparently and Jackson talked about that and more.

"Elon said that they would offer me when I come to visit. Old Dominion stopped by the other day too expressing their interest."

So which schools have stepped up their pursuit of Jackson compared to the others at this point?

"Old Dominion I would say and Charlotte. Coach (Charlotte) basically told me when I go up there and they get a good look at me and meet the staff they will offer me. I'm looking to go April 26th or 28th. Old Dominion told me I'm a good fit for their 4-3. So I'm planning on heading up there pretty soon to see what happens but also said they are coming to our Spring game to evaluate me. So is North Carolina."

For now Jackson says he plans on showcasing at various school camps in order to try and land some more offers once college coaches see him in person.

Jackson also continues to shine participating in track and field where he's one of the very best discus throwers in the country which could lead to offers in that sport as well.

"Right now I'm 3rd all-time leading state discus thrower. I was the 2012 state champion, 2013 runner-up, and 2013 EE New Balance National Champion."
