Most 4-star prospects have their choice of some of the top schools from across the country. For 2015 Dreher shooting guard Tevin Mack his recruitment has been somewhat strange in relation to other highly rated prospects. Mack holds 7 offers currently and after talking with him he's out to prove doubters wrong and up his list of offers with his play on the AAU circuit this season. Nevertheless Mack picked up his 7th offer not too long ago and we caught up with Mack to talk about that program and the latest concerning his recruitment.
"Virginia Commonwealth was the latest school to offer me. They've been saying that their style pf play fits me and that I would fit in great because as soon as their best player graduates I'll be coming in as a freshman."
On Wednesday a trio of schools was on campus at Dreher High School watching Mack workout.
So where do things stand with the other two programs who swung by to check in on the 4-star prospect?
"Wake Forest is showing heavy interest but I'm still unsure about South Carolina right now."
Could Wake Forest be on the verge of offering Mack?
"Yeah I feel like it is a better chance for them to offer right now than USC."
The 2015 prospect has a long list of factors he'll consider heavily when choosing a college. He talked at length about those things that will be highly important to him when the time comes to decide.
"Education, early playing time, style of play, atmosphere, coaching staff, conference strength, being on television, graduation rates, and the ability of the staff to develop/prepare players for the pros are all important to me really."
As we talked about before Georgia and Virginia Tech are his lone offer from a power conference thus far and with Wake Forest showing heavy interest would another ACC offer carry some additional weight for the 2015 standout?
"It'll be important to me but at the end of the day it's all about where I feel most comfortable and what fits me."
The last new school to reach out to Mack was Southern California he says. He's hoping that a lot of new schools will be in the mix soon with a chance to showcase his skills soon. Right now with the live period set to start on the AAU circuit Mack is focused on playing extremely well and showing other coaches that he's the real deal.
"Yes sir. That's all I'm thinking about. I feel like people still don't think I'm good enough."
Being slighted despite being a 4-star currently expect Mack to take his game to greater heights in the coming months as he is one of the top pure scorers in the country at the two-guard position.
Schools like UCLA, Memphis, Texas, and Syracuse are some of the ones he'd like to hear a lot more from in the very near future. From what we've seen of Mack on the court if he plays with that added chip on his shoulder he'll undoubtedly have a slew of new suitors and offers to add to his resume.
SCPrepNation.com will have the very latest with Tevin Mack as he prepares to take his game to another level in pursuit of new offers on the AAU circuit.
