"Louisville and Tennessee came by yesterday. North Carolina State came by today. They are all interested! My coach also informed me that I have offers from James Madison and UAB now too," Colburn told us Thursday night.
Those offers join prior offers from Marshall and Charleston Southern.
So what have the schools who've been by already expressed to Colburn through his coaches thus far?
"NC State basically said that if I come up, work, and perform well that they'll offer me."
"Tennessee and Louisville were real high on me too. I spoke with the coaches and we watched my film together. They were really impressed. They asked about my maxes and personal records in track and their jaws dropped. They also got a bunch of contact info for me as well coach said."
With 4 offers now Colburn isn't taking anything for granted. In fact, the 2015 prospect is hungrier now more than ever to push himself even further.
"I can't let up. I gotta keep working to be the best I can be!"
As a junior this season Colburn had 2,488 yards rushing, 40 rushing touchdowns, 418 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Add in 116 yards in kickoff returns (23.2 yard average) and he accumulated 3,022 total yards and 42 touchdowns this year for Dutch Fork as they went on to win the AAAA Division 1 state championship.
Colburn also currently holds the school record for most touchdowns in a career with 68 heading towards his senior season next year.
As for now Colburn will resume his work on the track where he says they'll have their region meet next week and he hopes to qualify for semifinals and then state in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 meter relay.
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Matt Colburn as we expect his recruitment to continue its upward trend in the coming months as college coaches start to realize just how talented and bright the young running back is already.
