Matt Colburn Profile

Don't underestimate 2015 Dutch Fork RB Matt Colburn whatsoever. Defenses found out the hard way as last year he piled up 3,000 yards and 42 touchdowns from scrimmage. Pound for pound Colburn might be one of the southeast's best backs and although he's 5'8 185 pounds its hard to deny his stats or film. College coaches are starting to look beyond his size and realize that he's a prospect that can help a program in a hurry. In the past month or so Colburn has picked up 9 offers and is on his way towards double digits soon.

On Tuesday the explosive Colburn reached out to us letting us know of the latest offers.

"I just received offers from Presbyterian, SC State, and Tennessee State!"

A lot of schools have been by Dutch Fork in recent weeks to check out their prospects and many have seen Colburn's film prompting plenty of offers to be made.

With offers previously from Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Marshall, Mercer, and UAB we expect more offers to come rolling in for the dynamic back from Dutch Fork.

Colburn says a number of other schools have been by lately and are highly interested. Camp showings and further evaluations could lead to more offers from those programs.

"Clemson has been by, Coach Venables. Michigan State, Marshall, and Charlotte have been by too. Old Dominion was just here today too."

Others who have been by and came away showing strong interest in Colburn are Louisville, NC State, and Tennessee.

As far as camps goes Colburn has a list of schools he plans on camping with this off season to try and open some more eyes.

"I'm going to try and camp with Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Clemson, Appalachian State, and Coastal Carolina."

Given Colburn's feats on the field and add his outstanding work in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA and its easy to see why schools are taking a liking to the well rounded prospect.

Recently Colburn was in the news for another game he plays and takes seriously, chess.

"Yes sir! That's me! I've been playing chess since the 6th grade."

We'll keep you updated with Matt Colburn's recruitment as his next offer will put him into double digits so keep it right here for more of the very latest!
