15' Byrnes RB Isaiah Hill Lands 3rd Offer

Hard to fathom a Byrnes prospect flying under the radar but that is the case with 2015 RB Isaiah Hill in our opinion. The 6'1 215 pound back had 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Rebels last season. Factor in his size, rushing ability, and excellent hands catching out of the backfield and you've got an excellent sleeper prospect on your hands. Three schools have already offered Hill...

Isaiah Hill Profile

The Byrnes Rebels are known for their high powered passing attack but everybody knows even a team that relies heavily on the pass needs a steady running back that can keep defenses honest. Enter 2015 running back Isaiah Hill. For the past 2 seasons we've watch Hill develop and he came into his own last year as a junior. Still to us the 6'1 215 pound back is flying under the radar so we caught up with Hill as he landed his 3rd offer on Thursday night.

We were actually talking with Hill when he got word of his 3rd offer. We'll rewind prior to Hill receiving that news though.

"I picked up my second offer from Gardner-Webb and I should pick up my third tonight from Miami (Ohio)."

A lot of schools have been by Byrnes in the past few weeks making inquiries about the Rebels' running back though he says.

"South Florida, Wake Forest, Liberty, SC State, Charlotte, Michigan State, James Madison, Towson, and Louisville have come by."

Then Hill got word of his third offer.

"I just got my third offer from Miami Ohio. They want to get me up to the campus soon. They were telling me about the history of Miami Ohio and about the coaches' careers."

So as of right now Hill says Miami (Ohio), Gardner-Webb, and Charlotte are recruiting him the hardest at this point.

As we've mentioned before the Rebels are going into next season with a new head coach in Brian Lane. We asked Hill what his take on playing for Lane has been like thus far?

"It's been a great experience. I have basically known him my whole life." (Lane was an assistant at Byrnes for years before head coaching jobs at South Florence & Woodruff)

The 2015 prospect talked about some aspects he's been focusing on to improve this off season.

"I've been working on my open field cuts and breakway speed."

Considering the fact that we feel Hill is flying under the radar we asked him what his mindset is heading into next season to try and earn more offers.

"If they don't think I'm good enough, I'm gonna make you go to the sidelines an say "Coach #23 we can't stop him, he's like a horse."

With an added chip on his shoulder or a desire to add more offers to his resume you could say Hill talked about some other schools that he'd like to hear more from soon.

"I would like to hear from Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Mississippi, and Arizona State."
