With 70 catches for 1,068 yards and 9 touchdowns last season 2015 Mauldin wide receiver Taz Richardson rewrote the record books at Mauldin this year. Earning All-Region honors as well and named his team's offensive MVP Richardson has been on the recruiting radar for quite some time. We caught up with the 6'1 180 pound prospect to see what has transpired since our last update which includes a new offer a few days ago.
The past few weeks Richardson has seen quite a few college coaches come to Mauldin and he caught us up to speed with the ones who checked in on him.
"James Madison came a few weeks ago and Charleston Southern and Charlotte both came the week after that."
One of those schools liked his film and what they saw apparently as they called the next day with good news.
"Charlotte offered me," Richardson said.
Richardson talked about what it feels like to have a second offer to join his first offer which came from East Carolina.
"It feels good to have another offer on the line. Now I will look deeply into their program."
"He called me over after practice and told me that I have an offer from them. He told me he likes what he saw of me at practice. And the last play I had I kinda got hit kinda weird then he told me it was a great play but that the tackle took his breath away."
The past few days have seen more visitors at Mauldin taking a look at the talented 2015 prospect.
"Georgia Southern came yesterday. Charleston Southern and Richmond both came by today."
We'll keep a close eye on the recruitment of Taz Richardson as more schools start to take an interest in the dynamic playmaker from Mauldin so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com.
