Thad Mangum Profile

Things moved rather quickly for 2015 Christ Church DT Thad Mangum. A few months ago he had no offers and now he's approaching double digits. The 6'1 270 pound prospect gave us some news on Tuesday regarding his latest offers and plans moving forward.

"Lenoir-Rhyne just offered. I've also decided to cut my list down to only the D1 schools."

"So as of right now Elon, Western Carolina, Lenoir-Rhyne, Holy Cross, Mercer, and The Citadel."

He talked about what he likes about the schools that are on his new list currently.

"With Citadel I like because they have amazing uniforms and if you graduate from the Citadel there's a 99% chance of getting a very good job."

"Elon I like because of the location, nice campus, and the fact that the coaching staff shows the same characteristics that I show."

"Holy Cross is a good school because they're just like an Ivy League school except they give scholarships unlike Ivy League schools."

Mangum says he'll camp with a number of schools this summer to try and earn some more offers.

"I'm planning on camping with Georgia Tech, Clemson, Georgia Southern, Mercer, Western Carolina, The Citadel, and Coastal Carolina."

The 2015 prospect talked about how spring practice went for him and his teammates who won another state title this past season.

"Spring practice was fun, it was nice to get out there with my teammates an run around a little bit. Also, it was cool to see all the college coaches come to watch us also."

So what schools have been by to see Mangum during the spring?

Along with the schools he's still got on the list and ones he plans on camping with are Army, Navy, Appalachian State, Charlotte.

With so many schools entering the mix for Mangum these past few months we asked him how it felt to go from no offers to almost double digits in such a short time frame?

"It's crazy but it's a blessing from God because I know that I don't have to worry about my parents having to stress over paying for me to go to school and they can focus on my little brothers and sister."
