16' Cross OL Malcolm Garrett Talks The Latest

Cross OL Malcolm Garrett (6'3 276) is one of the top prospects in the state for 2016 in our opinion. One look at his film and you'll understand why we're so high on the freakishly athletic youngster from Cross. He recently took a visit to South Carolina and came away impressed, now he's looking for his first offer and plans on camping to try and earn some this off season.

Malcolm Garrett Profile

We made it known early on that we feel 2016 Cross offensive tackle Malcolm Garrett has the potential to be a national level prospect before his time is done. We caught up with the athletic and aggressive lineman from Cross recently to talk about the latest regarding his recruitment as things indeed are starting to pick up for the 6'3 276 pounder.

While we feel he'll land at offensive guard on the collegiate level if he doesn't grow any taller either way Garrett is a man child when he's on the field. Extremely agile and athletic he gets around and out in a hurry all while punishing defenders along the way with an aggressive style of play.

Garrett recently took at trip to Columbia to check out South Carolina and he had a glowing review of that visit.

"The USC visit was the best! I really like their campus and their coaches. Especially coach Spurrier they all seem pretty cool. I really like USC and it would be really big for me if they were to offer me."

Other schools have been by Cross this spring to check on the talented 2016 prospect he says.

"South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, and Auburn all came and talked to me. Clemson didn't say much but North Carolina talked to me a lot and said they are wanting me to come to their camp."

Garrett says he plans on camping with both North Carolina and South Carolina this off season.

"Yes sir I do. I hope I get offers from both of them."

So will the first school that offers Garrett receive some extra love from the talented sophomore?

"Yes no doubt about it!"

There are some other schools out there that Garrett says he'd love to hear from in the near future regarding his recruitment.

"Florida State and North Carolina State."

Currently standing 6'3 Garrett would project as a guard on the collegiate level right now but his freakish athleticism and strength should have more college coaches showing more interest soon. We definitely won't be surprised to see him land his first offers soon.

"I'm hoping I continue to grow some more. I just want to be a great guard or tackle, wherever they want to put me. I just want to play extremely well and make it to the next level!"
