Matt Colburn Profile

We've been singing the praises of 2015 Dutch Fork running back for quite some time. Despite his 5'8 186 pound frame he's one of the most dynamic players in the state regardless of class. Piling up over 3,000+ yards from scrimmage last season and scoring 42 touchdowns he's grabbed quite a few offers early on but he landed his biggest on Sunday afternoon.

"I just finished with the Louisville camp and I'm on the way home now. They offered me!" Colburn said.

So how does Colburn feel after landing his biggest offer to date?

"I feel truly blessed and elated. All of this hard work is continuing to pay off!"

The offer from Louisville is the 14th for the 2015 Dutch Fork prospect. He talked about how things went during the Cardinals camp.

"The running backs coach kept in front of me during all of the drills so that really drove me to perform. He told me great job on all the things I did. He, coach Grantham, and coach Petrino told me that I'm a hell of a player and that I look great. They said I'm the type of guy who can help them reach their goal of winning a national championship."

"Coach Bobby Petrino offered me, he pulled me aside near the end during some drills and said, "I want you to play for me, you're a hell of a player and I wanna offer you a scholarship.""

The 2015 prospect talked about what he likes most about the Cardinals thus far.

"I love their stadium and indoor facility. Our team played there 2 years ago and it was awesome. I was amazed at how big it was as well as the indoor facility. The weight room and training room (along with their football facility) is awesome! They just got this 3.5 million dollar grant or something and they're doubling the size of the weight room and the training room. They're also adding players lounge on the second floor as well as a study center. They've got a lot of promising things to come!"

Next up for Colburn is a trip to Raleigh where he'll camp with North Carolina State. After that he'll head to Knoxville where he's set to camp with Tennessee. Both schools, like Louisville, seemed really interested in Colburn taking the time to watch his film at Dutch Fork and visiting twice to make sure that he would come to camp.

We'll have more with Colburn after he finishes up camp with the Wolfpack on Wednesday for an update on how things went in Raleigh so stay tuned here on SCPrepNation.com!
