Cards make cut for 3-star South Carolina star

Tavin Richardson, a three-star tight end/wide receiver from Duncan, S.C., Byrnes High School, released his top eight on Monday night. Among the schools on the list was the University of Louisville. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

Duncan, S.C., Byrnes High School tight end/wide receiver Tavin Richardson made a visit last week to the University of Louisville.

After the visit, Richardson told Cardinal Authority the trip went "great" and that he "really liked" his time at U of L.

On Monday night, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Richardson narrowed his list of school to eight and that included Louisville.

The Cardinals made the cut along with Kentucky, Florida, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest, Central Florida and Nebraska.

Richardson tweeted his list and later said the schools were listed "not in order."

On Saturday, Richardson helped Byrnes win the 7-on-7 title at the Auburn team camp.

As a sophomore, Richardson finished with close to 600 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He had 53 catches for 836 yards and eight touchdowns last season as a junior.
