Cameron Allen Profile

Things have matriculated in a hurry for 2015 Wade Hampton guard Cameron Allen. One of the top guards in the Upstate he's finally landed his first scholarship offer and at the same time has picked up quite a few new suitors. Allen gave us the rundown on all the latest.

"I picked up an offer from Gardner-Webb! The head coach offered me." Allen told us.

So how does it feel for the 2015 prospect to finally land that elusive first offer and have it on the table now?

"It feels great. It's well deserved."

Gardner-Webb is just one of quite a few new schools to enter the mix for Allen since his early run on the AAU circuit with SC Elite.

"Mercer, Florida Gulf Coast, and Wichita State are all recruiting me hard now."

So could offer number two be on the way from one of those schools?

"Mercer is recruiting me pretty hard. I have a visit there at the end of the month and I feel like I could land an offer from them."

Allen's interest has been due to his strong play with his SC Elite squad. He says his team apparently will get a lot stronger heading in to July with some key additions.

"We're going to have a strong team going into July. We're picking up James Murray and Tevin Mack from the Carolina Wolves because they only have one tournament in July."

Landing his first offer we asked Allen if schools that offer him early on will make a big impact in trying to land his commitment?

"Not necessarily but I will take them under consideration obviously. It's all about who fits my style of play."

Allen says that Gardner-Webb's coaches said that they like his ability to score the ball with good shooting and his speed off the dribble.

The 2015 prospect says he would like to hear from VCU and UCF in the near future and anyone else that takes an interest in him as he hopes to continue his hot play during July with his AAU squad.
