It's been an interesting recruitment for 2016 South Pointe cornerback Nick McCloud thus far. Last year he lined up primarily at wide receiver before making the switch to corner late. That switch has earned him his first scholarship offer and tons of interest from some of the heavyweight programs in the SEC conference. We talked with McCloud about his latest camp visit and where he's headed to next in this update.
"I had a visit to Appalachian State today. It was great. They showed a lot of love and the facilities and everything was really nice."
So what was McCloud's favorite part of his trip with the Mountaineers?
"Seeing the coaches. They were really excited to see me and it made me feel good."
The Mountaineers are the first school to offer McCloud and it appears that he had a great experience in Boone.
There are plenty of other schools who've been active in their pursuit of McCloud as of late too.
The 6'2 170 pound 2016 prospect will camp with one of those SEC schools this coming weekend.
"I go back to Auburn on Saturday for an "Elite 16" camp for rising 11th graders."
As of late McCloud has been active with his team playing a lot of 7on7 getting reps.
"I've been putting in work at 7on7's. We had Cam Newton's 7on7 last week on Friday and Saturday but I only went Friday because I had a wedding on Saturday. I caught a lot of touchdowns at wide receiver and had 5 interceptions at defensive back just in that one day though."
We'll catch up with McCloud after his "Elite 16" camp visit with the Auburn Tigers this weekend so stay tuned right here with SCPrepNation.com for more of the latest regarding one of the state's top 2016 prospects.
