Coming on strong last season was 2016 Lexington running back Slade Carroll. We caught up with the 5'10 195 pound prospect to see what's been going on since our last interview with him.
"Not a lot lately, no sir. I got invited to the Elite 2016 Wake Forest Showcase but did not make it."
Asked about how things are progressing with his team this off season he had this to say, "Yes sir we had a very good off season. We are looking sharp going into the start of the season."
The 2016 prospect talked about some of the things he's trying to show college coaches during his upcoming junior season. He also talked about some of the increases he's made in his testing measurables.
"I want to show them that I've improved my quickness, my speed, and my catching skills."
"I've gone up on my squat, dead lift, and power clean. I ran a 4.63 as my fastest 40 time this summer."
Although Carroll didn't make it to the Wake Forest Elite 2016 Showcase he did camp with the Demon Deacons a month ago. He talked about his time in Winston Salem. He's also camped with Charleston Southern and talked about the his camp experience there as well.
"Wake Forest was awesome! The facility and stadium were very nice. The coaches were also nice. I met my recruiting coordinator there and talked at registration a little. Charleston Southern was good. I met most of the coaches and had a pretty decent camp there."
We'll have more updates with Slade Carroll as he'll once again be featured in the Wildcats' backfield this season so stay tuned here on SCPrepNation.com.
