Grabbing a high profile verbal offer during his sophomore year was 2016 Hanahan wide receiver Samuel Denmark. With an assortment of schools taking a long hard look now Denmark talked about it all and more.
So what's the latest regarding Denmark's recruitment?
"Not much really, I'm just getting ready for the season working out with strength and speed. I've went to 3 camps this summer, South Carolina, Clemson, and NC State. They were all pretty good. I've spoken with my Notre Dame and Clemson recruiters and I'm planning on attending one of their games this season."
The 2016 standout talked about his time at those camps with us.
"South Carolina's camp, it was good. Coach Spurrier liked me and liked what he saw. He said he will definitely keep in contact with me and my progress this season."
"Clemson, I really was impressed with them and got the vibe that they are equally impressed with me. I got to spend a lot of time with coach Jeff Scott the receivers coach. He said that he liked what he saw with especially how I got off the ball into my routes. Coach Elliott, my recruiter, said they will definitely will be in touch. I planning on going to the North Carolina game."
"At North Carolina State I enjoyed it too. I really liked the facility and they are very persistent in providing me information about the school and football program."
Denmark is regarded as one of the faster players in the state for 2016 as he also helped Hanahan win another state championship in track and field. He talked about how he's been working hard to add more strength to his arsenal. He touched on what results he's seen in doing so.
"It's going well I've gained 12 pounds and I'm up to 178 pounds now and I've still kept my 40 time to 4.44 seconds."
Notre Dame verbally offered Denmark a few months ago after the season and the Hanahan star has also talked with former Hanahan and current Notre Dame wide receiver Chris Brown. Denmark told us what the Fighting Irish coaches and Brown have said to him recently.
"Notre Dame is saying that they are still very interested and would like to get me there to visit the campus and check out the game atmosphere. Chris just recommended that I continue to work hard on and off the field and keep my grades up."
Hanahan should be loaded with another strong squad this season and the 2016 wide receiver talked about some of the goals he's set forth for his team and himself during his upcoming junior season.
"My goals this year are lead my team to another undefeated regular season. To win the state championship and in completing those tasks I hope to double my output from last season and repeat as the team's leading receiver."
Should he do so, expect plenty more offers to start rolling in for the electric play maker from Hanahan. We'll have more updates with Samuel Denmark as we anticipate things to pick up heavily during this coming season.
