Byrnes sits at 2-0 currently and in a couple of weeks they will travel across the country to take on fellow powerhouse De La Salle (CA) in a showdown. One of the Rebels top prospects is 2016 CB/WR Jaylan Foster. We caught up with Foster to talk about how his junior season has gone thus far, an ACC school who's showing strong interest, and what his thoughts are heading into the heavyweight matchup in California.
"I've been hearing a lot from NC State. They are sending a lot of mail, the head coach follows me on all social media, sending recruiting pitches to me direct message, and other coaches are following me too."
The 2016 prospect says there's definitely mutual interest in the Wolfpack.
"Yeah I definitely want to visit soon. If it works out I wanna visit this weekend."
Other schools in the mix lately have been Auburn, Gardner-Webb, and Presbyterian.
Foster plays on both sides of the ball for the Rebels and that versatility is something he's learned to embrace and hopes will entice more college coaches.
"Yes sir, it's an advantage in the process to me being able to play well both ways."
"My season has been great. I've got 4 catches for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. On defense I've got 5 tackles and 1 pass breakup so far. We're 2-0."
Asked about what his mindset is in preparing for the big showdown in California against De La Salle Foster had this to say.
"Just to stay focused on the reason we're going out there and play hard. I'm very excited because its my first time visiting California."
We'll catch up with Foster should he make that visit to Raleigh this weekend with the Wolfpack so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
