The Boiling Springs Bulldogs have gotten off to a strong start and are coming off a big victory over Gaffney. 2015 safety B.J. Stewart had his best game of the season arguably in front of some very interested coaches too. We caught up with Stewart to talk about it all in this quick hitter.
"I had 13 tackles 2 pass break ups last week. I ended up getting overall player of the week for my team with Wofford, Furman, and Tusculum watching," Stewart told us.
So far during the first 2 games of the seasons Stewart says he's got 20 tackles and 4 pass break ups.
With an offer already from Wofford, Stewart hopes his performance could lead to more offers for him to choose from.
"I've been hearing from Presbyterian a lot too. I've got visits to Wofford and Tusculum coming soon too."
Boiling Springs is one of the top teams in AAAA but they'll face their toughest test this season in #1 ranked Dutch Fork who just lost last week against nationally ranked Allen (TX) in a 58-53 battle. There's also some familiarity with Dutch Fork for Stewart as well he informed us.
"We're #4 and they are #1 so it should be a good game. We've just gotta stop Matt Colburn (Louisville RB commit). He's my cousin. I'm still gonna smack'em though (laughs). We talked all day yesterday about the game."
We'll have more updates with B.J. Stewart as he looks to help the Bulldogs knock off Dutch Fork this Friday...stay tuned!
