Joseph Young Profile

The running back class in South Carolina is pretty strong this cycle and after the first couple of backs things kinda blur a bit but one prospect we feel is flying way under the radar is Young. The Fairfield Central star talked with SCPrepNation.com on Friday about the latest which includes an unofficial visit this weekend.

"I'm hoping for a good game tonight," Young said as Fairfield Central will take on Columbia High School.

"I'm planning to take an unofficial visit to Virginia tomorrow too. I'm really looking forward to it. I want to see the whole nine yards up there. Maybe get a head start on the playbook if I like what I see."

With his last sentence we had to ask Young if there was a chance he may commit to the Cavaliers if he likes what he sees?

"I want the recruiting process to pick up but yes sir, there is a chance I might verbally commit if I really like it at Virginia this weekend."

Young says another school that has entered the mix as of late with an offer is South Alabama. He currently holds 9 offers with offers coming from Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Citadel, Furman, Ohio, Old Dominion, Virginia, South Alabama, and Western Carolina.

The 2015 prospect says he plans on taking some more visits and as of right now he says he'd like to visit Ohio too. He also informed us that he'd like to hear more from Clemson and Maryland.

So far this season Young has 72 carries for 500+ yards and 7 touchdowns.

Stay tuned as we'll catch up with Young after his visit to Virginia this weekend to see how things went.
