We knew he had gone for big numbers on Friday night against Boiling Springs and we caught up with Collins afterwards to talk about it.
"I had 3 touchdowns, 6 catches for 185 yards," Collins informed us.
The 2015 standout has 7 offers already and is still hearing from a number of schools. He talked at length about where things stand currently and one visit he's already got lined up.
"I'm planning on going to James Madison on November 1st. That's the only visit I have set as of right now."
"NC State is recruiting me now too. They have been saying that they like me and they are coming to watch me and my teammate Chavis Dawkins this Friday against Spartanburg."
On Friday night Collins got behind the Boiling Springs defense quite a few times leading to those three touchdowns. He says he's been working hard on many phases of his game this off season and the hard work is apparently paying off.
"Yes sir. I see a big difference in my game from last year to this year. I've really worked hard on my speed a lot and my route running. I mean I've been told that I run good routes. So I just worked a lot more at those things and also at being more consistent with catching the ball as well."
So far this season Collins has 23 catches for 424 yards and 6 touchdowns averaging 18.4 yards per catch. The Rebels record stands at 4-1 on the season as their lone loss of the season came at the hands of nationally ranked De La Salle (CA) who is ranked #4 in the Scout.com Top 50 Rankings. Byrnes is currently ranked #33 in the poll.
We'll have more updates with Braylin Collins as he and the Rebels will take on Spartanburg Vikings this Friday so stay tuned.
