Although Greenville isn't having the best season one bright spot for the Red Raiders is 2015 wide receiver Jalen Wilkes. With a slew of underclassmen on the roster Wilkes has been a consistent force for his team. On Monday he landed his 5th scholarship offer and we've got the details and more here on SCPrepNation.com.
"I just picked up offer number 5 from Youngstown State," Wilkes messaged us late Monday evening.
"I just got off the phone with coach Carter. He says that he really likes how I used to play running back and that I've got good ball skills and have very good run after the catch ability."
Other schools have been in contact with Wilkes during the past few months and he caught us up to speed with things there as well.
"I'm also hearing from Georgia Southern, Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina and some others. I've got offers from Charleston Southern, Elon, Furman, and Wofford."
The 2015 prospect says he's taken one visit and plans on setting up some more soon.
"I've already visited Charleston Southern. It was really beautiful and they have a good team. I'm also trying to visit Youngstown State, Georgia Southern, and Coastal Carolina too."
So far this season Wilkes has 61 catches for 619 yards and 8 touchdowns.
"We're 1-4 and our defense is a little undeveloped but our offense is ranked #3 in the state averaging 41.7 points per game."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Wilkes as the season and his recruitment rolls on so keep it right here...
