2016 Seneca linebacker C.J. Greenlee has been on the radar for us for quite some time. Schools are starting to take notice of the talented 6' 230 pound linebacker and we caught up with him to talk about his recruitment and recent visit.
Last year as a sophomore Greenlee had 82 solo tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 interceptions. Things have gotten off to a solid start in his junior season and he told us about his visit with an SEC school over the weekend.
"The visit went really good at Auburn. I was able to see the locker room and the player's lounge."
The 2016 Seneca standout also got a chance to interact with some of the Tigers while at Auburn.
"I talked with coach Johnson the linebackers coach and I also talked with Tre Williams one of their linebackers. He was talking about how school and football are going so far and what I like about Auburn so far. He also said he wants me to come back for another visit so he can get to know me more."
We asked Greenlee what his favorite part of the visit with Auburn was?
"My most favorite part of the visit was seeing the eagle fly around be for ethe game."
In his last game against Wren Greenlee told us he had 8 solo tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and broke up 2 passes.
Other schools besides Auburn have been in the mix for Greenlee early on in his recruitment. He talked about some of the schools he's been hearing from thus far.
"I've been hearing from Georgia, Georgia Southern, Florida State, Missouri, and NC State. Georgia Southern says I'm one of their top prospects in the 2016 class. They are recruiting me the hardest out of everybody right now."
Greenlee says he's already picked up an offer from Kansas Christian University.
He's also had a pretty solid relationship with NC State as well he says.
"I have been talking to coach Huxtable the linebackers coach for NC State and he told me I was one of the best linebackers in 2016 class at the NC State camp. He also wants me to come up for a visit soon too."
We'll have more updates with C.J. Greenlee as he continues to put up big numbers and take more visits as the season rolls on so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
