Shrine Bowl Quotable....

Yesterday the rosters were announced for the 2014 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas that will be held December 20th at Wofford College. We caught up with some of the members who were named to the South Carolina team to see what their reaction was to finding out the news. Tavin Richardson (pictured) makes some history as part of a father-son who've both played in the Shrine Bowl.

The selections for this year's Shrine Bowl teams were announced yesterday and we reached out to some of the selections who were named to the South Carolina squad to see what their reaction was to being named to the state's most prestigious all-star game.

"How's it feel to be named to the Shrine Bowl?"

Bavueir Jackson (Broome LB)-"It feels good, I know I will be surrounded by good athletes and it will be a good test for me. Hoping I will pick up some more offers with a good week of practice and strong game."

Lyrics Klugh (Byrnes DB)-"It's great man, I just thank God for putting me in this position. I hope a good showing will lead to some more offers."

Tavin Richardson (Byrnes WR)-"It feels really great to make it because my daddy played in it and I always wanted to play in the Shrine Bowl too."

Aron Spann (Dorman DB)-"It's a great feeling! An honor and a blessing to be apart of a historic all-star game such as the Shrine Bowl."

Matt Colburn (Dutch Fork RB)-"It feels great! Such an honorable achievement, all of this hard work is paying off. I've gotta keep it up."

Freddie Phillips (Pelion DB)-"It's great to see all the hard work pay off and not go unrecognized. We're about to ball out!"

Tyler Tekac (Stratford K/P)-"I'm so stoked! I was pretty surprised but I knew all the work I put in during the off season and during my senior season would pay off."
