Hassan Belton Profile

One of the top linebackers in the Palmetto State, 3-star Blythewood prospect Hassan Belton, has been having a strong senior season. With double digit offers already in hand Belton continues to play at a high level and he's earned quite a few accolades and honors this season. We caught up with Belton after another big performance on Friday night to talk about where things stand regarding his recruitment and about being named to this year's Shrine Bowl.

"I had a big game on Friday night. I led the team with 16 tackles, 1 interception, 1 sack, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. We won the game against Spring Valley."

With a number of offers on the table currently the 3-star from Blythewood has been on the road quite a bit taking visits to see most of the schools who've already offered him. He caught us up to speed with the latest regarding his recruitment.

"No sir I'm not going anywhere this weekend. I took the weekend off to rest for once. I might take another visit to East Carolina and try to make it to a Louisville game."

"I went to James Madison last for a visit and stayed the night with my former teammate Aaron Peak. It was a good visit seeing how they live and what it's like the only bad thing about the visit is that they lost so it wasn't as fun as it could've been if they'd won."

Belton says East Carolina has been on him the hardest as of late but things have been about the same with the rest of the schools in the race. The 2015 prospect says he will narrow things down soon.

"I'm going to narrow it down to a Top 5 and I will release it soon."

Recently Belton was named to the Shrine Bowl team and he talked about the honor.

"It's a blessing to be able to represent my school, my family, my community, and the state in football as being known as one of the best. It's a great honor and I'm the first person from Blythewood to make it in about 7 years so it was a lot of excitement around."

A strong showing in practices and during the game could strum up some new offers possibly for Belton and he talked about where his thoughts are right now.

"Of course that would be nice but I'm most looking forward to competing with the best of the best and showing my talents."

SCPrepNation.com will keep you abreast to Belton's recruitment as he'll divulge his Top 5 list to us in the near future so stay tuned.
