Schools have started to show 2016 Clinton corner back Jasper Fuller early attention. The 5'10 170 pound prospect has battled injuries this season like many of his teammates but it hasn't slowed schools from taking a hard look at the talented play maker. Fresh off a pair of visits recently Fuller talked about his recruitment and those visits with us.
"I went to visit Georgia Southern. I liked the history of the football program, their facilities are nice, and they have a good team. It was a great visit overall."
During his time in Statesboro Fuller says he got a chance to talk with the GSU coaches too.
"They told me that I was in their recruiting database and that they will keep recruiting me."
Fuller said the highlight of his visit with Georgia Southern was, "touring the new field house and meeting the coaches and players personally."
The Clinton prospect also visited another school in the "Peach State" recently as well and he told us about that trip as well.
"I also took a visit to Savannah State. It was pretty good. I liked what the coaches were saying and the campus was nice. I'd say when they let us participate in the Tiger Walk and seeing the game day atmosphere were the highlights of my visit there."
His junior season has been tough as Clinton has a young team that has had a lot of injuries to some of their key players, including himself as he's battled injuries lately too he informed us.
"I've played three games and missed the last four games with a sprained toe. I've been playing quarterback on offense and at cornerback on defense. It has helped me a lot playing both. Being able to read the quarterback while playing at DB because now I know what quarterbacks are reading."
Last season Fuller had 78 tackles, 7 pass break ups, and 3 forced fumbles as a sophomore.
He says that his biggest strengths right now are his "ability to press or play off man coverage, getting off blocks, and my tackling ability."
To strengthen his game he says he will continue to work on his hip flexibility and getting out of his breaks and his speed to try and take his game to greater heights.
Clinton won their first game of the season on Friday night defeating Union County to take their record to 1-7. We'll continue to track the recruitment of Jasper Fuller here on SCPrepNation.com so stay tuned.
