As one of the top rushers in the Upstate for the past few seasons 2015 Southside High running back Lutrell Dallas is still looking for his first scholarship offer. The 5'11 200 pound prospect sat down with us recently to talk about things so far during his senior season and more.
"Things could be better than what it is, but I just try to help my team out anyway that I can. I've even been getting to play a little defensive end too."
What Dallas has done this year is break Southside's all-time rushing record. Its a feat he talked about and where his numbers stand so far this season as well.
"It feels good to break the school rushing record, that was my plan coming in as a freshman. Being able to do it with the help of my teammates will be something that I truly will cherish forever."
"I don't know my exact numbers but I believe its between 700 and 800 yards and so far and I've gotten less than 100 carries."
"According to multiple sources with long standing relationships at the school, there has never been a back to rush for over 3,000 yards. Which made me the first to break both the 3,000 and the 4,000 yard mark. So I've got the record right now at 4,345 yards and counting."
The 2015 prospect says that he's hoping his recruitment will continue to pick up steam down the stretch. He's already taken a couple of visits but he's still looking for his first scholarship offer.
"I'm hearing from Western Carolina, Newberry, Presbyterian, Methodist University, and Limestone."
"I visited Presbyterian not too long ago. It was very nice. Iwas very impressed with the school, especially their education. I've also been to Western Carolina, Newberry, and Methodist also. Those schools are all very impressive schools."
We'll have more updates with Dallas as he continues to pile up yards for the Tigers and set the Southside all-time rushing record even higher so stay tuned.
