We've been singing the praises of 2016 Byrnes wide receiver Chavis Dawkins for a while now and the 3-star prospect got some more good news on Monday night. We got wind of the possible offer earlier in the day and it came to fruition within a few short hours.
"Wake Forest just offered!" Chavis Dawkins messaged us on Monday night.
During an impromptu visit to Byrnes earlier in the day we heard from his head coach, Brian Lane, that the offer "could be coming pretty soon from Wake Forest."
The 2016 prospect already held an offer from NC State and the Demon Deacons became his second offer so far.
"It feels good! I haven't really been hearing from them before."
Dawkins says he's looking forward to talking more in-depth with the Demon Deacons and scheduling some visits to Winston-Salem to learn more about their program.
As of late Dawkins says, "I'm still hearing from the same schools as before."
He did state that he'd like to hear more from in-state South Carolina soon.
NC State remains in contact with Dawkins on a regular basis he says and his primary recruiter for the Wolfpack is coach Dez Kitchings.
Uncertain of his current stats on the season Dawkins has played a pivotal role for the Rebels who currently hold a 9-1 record on the season heading into their regular season finale with Wade Hampton this Friday night. We'll have more updates with Dawkins as the 3-star's recruitment continues to heat up.
